Hey guys, girlfriend is picking me up a deck for my birthday, but i want her to keep it relatively on the cheaper side.. lately i have ben interested in touch screen navigation units.

im talking about cheap brands, jensen, performance teknique, innovatek, etc etc.. are any of these any good? im not a crazy audio buff remember, and im not looking for people who only believe i 800$ ++ head units..

Basically, what are my best options for touch screen units if im looing to keep it cheap (and probably used)

I got my VZ409 in store for around $550 a few months ago but you can find them online for $400 and down. Dunno if thats in your price range.

Edit: I see your looking for navi aswell, the navigation for this deck is around $200
extra I think. My best suggestion is check Kijiji everyday.

 

i just bought a Freeway DT-05312N ( Freeway China North America ), from canadian tire for 399. regulr price 499. it has touch screen, bluetooth, nav, sd, usb, xvid,divx,mpeg2,mp4 support, and obveusly dvd playback. revers cam ready, ipod ready. 2 video/audio inputs, front rear and subwoofer pre-outs. the nav on it is outstanding. all other features work great. so far no problems with this unit. you can even play songs on your phone via bluetooth on it. i have one 12 in sub and this deck rocks my car harder now. (was using a panasonic before),and its internal amp is pritty good too... wickid deal !!!!!! oh, nd it was extreemly easy to hook up. no brain. minimal wires. !!!!

 

future shop has a nice looking deck. Clarion 6.5" In-Dash Double-Din Car Video Deck (VX409) $299.99 it is a touchscreen to boot.

 

you can find some really feature loaded decks on ebay for really cheap however my buddy bought a inovatech or somthing stupid like that the deck worked great for a wile then pooped out the motorized face plate just stoped dead , took it apeart and well lets just say it was like the first aid kit we all know about you know they one you open but never in your life will it close up the way it was, anyways when we put it back together(best we could) it never worked the same, there was a brand new CD stuck in it to...

 

if you don't mind going with a double din unit, I'd suggest the Innovatek IN-710GPS, I installed one for a customer, awesome unit for the money, you can pick one up on ebay for around 200$

number one on my list if you want to go the double din route would be the JVC KW-NT1, I installed one of these for someone, great unit overall, it has the gps unit built in, fairly decent equalizer settings as well
