Dodge Caravan
Hello All, I just installed a Clarion DXZ535 (4x52watts), 2 6x9 100 watts at 2 6.5" in the door panels. No amp, my question is i get alot of distortion from the speakers when volume is raised to 22(max is 33). Is it because the radio amp is to weak or the speakers are not strong enough. My speaker brand is Ultimate UX series. Any help would be much appreciated.

correct, i have 6x9 in the back and 6.5 in door panels. The installer said the reason they distort is because there's to much open air space in the door panels. He said he would refund me,but he also said i would need 2 amps.
a 4 way to drive the 6x9 and 6.5 mid and highs and another to drive the 10" sub and bass for the 4 other speakers. He also said I should upgrade the speakers to the platinum series. Any good recommendations on speakers or cd players? I'm a newb on this. Have you ever heard of ultimate products?

I have heard of them, I know that usually Visions carries their gear. So you have the deck, a pair of 6.5's and a pair of 6x9's, and two 10's also? If you do have the subs, what size, brand, model number are they?
www.visions.ca I have heard very good things about Boston Acoustics speakers, I have no first-hand experience with them though. You could run the back speakers off of the Clarion's built in power, and then get a 4 channel amp big enough to run the 10" and the fronts. Then, you could use a crossover on the amp to cut some of the bass out of the 6.5's up front, and bridge the back half of the amp to the Kenwood.
