Short story, I bought his US Amps 1000X as well as his 3 raw circuit boards, in mid July. Contact was great up until the point that the US1000X went in the mail. I got it promptly, it was exactly as he claimed it was.
Now, Ray told me that US Amps quoted him $50 USD per heatsink to finish his raw circuit boards. I have been in contact with US Amps and no one seems to think Ray would have been told such a low price. They want $100 USD per sink, $38.50 each for labour. They quote me $400 USD flat for heatsinks, labour, and "free" shipping since I'm insistent that Ray was quoted far less.
That's fine, but I want to talk to Ray to confirm that he was told $50 per heatsink. I have both his home and cell numbers, pm's here, and his home address. I've left probably a dozen messages with Ray in the last month trying to contact him. None have been returned.
On top of the price issue, US Amps will not release the amps to me until Ray calls and tells them they are mine, which he claimed to me he did. No one at US Amps has any record or memory of this (only 2-3 people answer phones there so someone should remember if he called.)
So today I try calling Ray yet again, except now his cell number is unassigned, his house number no longer has voicemail and just rings and rings.
Now I'm completely screwed. US Amps says that they are going to look into what they have to do legally to consider the amps abandoned property and move them on to me but this will easily take another month, if not several.
I've since sold the US1000X and recovered most of my money, but this is really pissing me off, about 5 years trading online and this is the first time I'm out money other than non paying bidders on ebay. I hope someone out there knows what has happened to Ray.
