Doing custom work....glueing wood to plastic (pvc) what glue to use?
goop?
resin? super glue? something else? |
Use "bulldog". It's an epoxy. Strongest thing I've ever seen...
|
I thought you were the man? LOL!
The bulldog grip will do ok. But you will need to scuf the abs pipe first. |

I have used this stuff before and it works great. But what exactally are you bonding together? Is it something that will see lots of abuse or is it cosmetic? ie. are you moulding a sub box to a plastic panel or ? |
its something that will have pressure on it. where can i get this bulldog stuff?
|
If it will have pressure on it, cut a circle of wood that fits into the pipe. Secure the circle with glue and screws then use screws to atach the inner cicrle to the pice of wood u origianlly are trying to attach to. Then use resin or bulldog or whatever or seal it
|
Secure the circle with glue |
^ Use a construction adhesive like Bulldog or No More Nails. Find it at the hardware store with the caulking and stuff. Scuff up the plastic with some 50grit to help the adhesive hold.
Not sure what you are doing but I have glued in aeroports with regular latex silicone and have never had them come loose. :dunno: |
thanks dude. so just grind pvc with sand paper and thats good enough?
