i in no means want to do this, but how would i do it if i have to do it my self. i need to run some power wire from the battery to my amp and am stuck at the fire wall. should i just take it to a auto shop and get them to do this for me? or do it my self. i don't have much money to take it to a shop. so i would like to do it my self.

well jsut make sure that yo uare not going to drill through any wires on either side...and i would say you are pretty safe drilling through it...i did my own ...not a big job...i would suggest getting a rubber grommet i think it is called...as to make sure the steel doens't cut the wire accidentally

Yup.. just make sure you are not drilling through anything you shouldn't and be sure to use a gromett! (absolutely necessary)

Just don't go to a mnt bike shop and ask for a grommet.

Wasn't there a hole alreday to go through?
Look for a hole that is already plugged up with a grommet. All cars have them somewhere...

Ive drilled through a couple firewalls. It never turns out to be as easy as it sounds, at least for me. I broke 2 big drill bits the first time. But still cheaper than paying some kid to do it for me. Go for it.

second what JRace said...
all cars should have a pre drilled hole some where on the fire wall. just look around for a round black piece of rubber and punch the center out, it will be much faster if you can find one.

Try cutting a hole for 2 lengths of 2/0.. then find a gromit... lol..

If you cant find gromits use a little silicone.. most importantly, make sure the wire is fused....
