Another tip for drilling your fire wall is to start with a small bit, drill a small hole where you think is a good spot. Then take a look at it from the other side. If it's all clear go ahead and drill your hole. If it is in a bad spot move over a little and try again. A small hole in the wrong spot is easier to plug then a large hole. Can be kind of nerve racking, I had to drill a 1" hole in the fire wall of a nice MX3. No Problem!!LOL

yeah, what model car, most cars have somewhere to run at least a 4awg cable through. I usually find a large grommet where something is run through and punch a hole with a sharp screw driver and force it through. The hole is tight and never leaks air or water. Still not easy, but easier than drilling.

And another piece of advice is to look at the horror show on tim's website to ensure that you do not do something like what he has posted there with a wire going right through a computer on the other side of the firewall.
