Dual VC help.

I tried wiring my Kicker S10L5 (dual 4) to 8ohm but got no output. Tested the coils and it seems one isn't working. Can I wire the sub using one voice coil (4 ohm) ?

I agree, most coils are layered one on top of another, there is nothing wrong with using one coil, I have had customers that have done it for years. Yes, if you have a meter check each pair of coils to see that you have a good coil or not.

If it's outta warranty just do it, least it's able to be used and not just sitting in a box in the corner, specially for home use prob won't be that big of deal..... unless ur wanted to runn like 300rms to it.. but still i have had buddies with Type R's somehow keep blowing 1 voice coil and they just used 1 and never had any major issues with it..

Long as you don't "OVERALLY" beat the hell outta it, you would prob be fine, I don't know specs on that sub soo whatever each coil can handle run that power to it... like I said better then it sitting around lookin pretty....
