Dual vs Single?
No real difference, especially for SPL. If amp "A" produces 500w rms into a 2 ohm load in stereo and amp "B" produces 500w rms into a 4 ohm load stereo and the only difference is the voice coil arrangement of the sub, how can it be different?
The difference lay in the choice and flexibility of the amplifier to match to the sub(s).
Say you want to get loud. Lets say that you also have a class D mono amp designed to operate at max output at 1 ohm. There are numberous ways to get there. This is the most common. You take two dvc 4 ohm subs and wire it in a all parallel circuit OR you take four single 4 ohm subs and wire them in the same all parallel circuit. Now, one system has more subs and more space taken up. Does the vehicle fit a box for 4 subs though? It all depends on how you want the system to match together for the need that you have.

thing is, is that i dont have the amp yet. Dont want four subs. Im looking at buying a mono amp, but its seems that 2ch amps are so much cheaper. Im not looking to spend an arm an a leg on an amp. So what would u recommend? Im current looking at the PowerBass line from Smartass. Leaning more towards the M series.
Smartass I am confident can make you a respectable set up. My setups of course are going to differ from his due to the availability of lines that I carry vs. his.
2 channel amps are cheaper, no doubt about it. Now, you can get loud with a pair of subs on a 2 channel amp, people have been doing that for the 20 years that I have been selling and installing gear. It all comes down to the investment that you want to make in the system and what you are expecting from your investment. That said, you need to have a budget, which to me is, well, I have no idea. So I do not want to speculate and design something which either may be beyond your reach and goals or not be up to the standards of what you want. For me to build a system I would need way more info.
Something to remember here. If you want big bad booty bass that approaches the "brown note", you can't get it with just a pair of big bad subs. You need to power the subs properly, wire the amp properly and build the proper box. The best of systems are ones that are mapped out properly, put together properly and used properly.

If you want a nice amp to match that setup the Powerbass ASA600.2 it puts out 300x2 at 2 ohms stereo which would be the perfect match.
