Duel Input terminal blocks

So I got boarded at work, while I was on night shift so I decided to design and make some duel inputs for an amp and i thought i would show you guys some pics! Also I will be giving 2 sets of these to Jacob for spl testing and what not! take a look let me know what you like and most importantly dislike and how i can improve the design.

Nice, very creative!

but be careful not to put too much stress on the amp terminals...

to much stress... you mean weight. these things weigh about 1/4lb right now i guess the only real weight would be the weight of the wire its self

but ya what you think this is only a ruff idea i need some input lol (pun intended lol input) lol

Very nice dude!

The only improvement I could really think of, is to rubberize most of it so you don't have a large surface that can easily short out, however that can be done by the end user with paint on electrical tape or something similar.

I like how you machined one side of the amp input terminal flat, so that when you screw into it, it'll have something to bite into and hold the terminal block in place. Maybe you could drill some holes at fixed intervals, that way the screw can actually slide in so no matter what the terminal block can't come out.

The only other thIng you could do to the flat edge is recess the amps set screw into it as well. Would make a more positive connection. I've had a similar product I used you invertors and if not constAntly checked they melt the out of the terminals. Just my .02.

unless that was machined as an exact tight fit into the specific amps terminal, would that not actually make for less contact area inside the amp terminal then the wire would ? I can see the benifit of the extra wire to the amp.... but that could easily be lost with a loose fit in the amps terminal.

those are similar to the ones "toolmaker" sells on caco

Well the tit is machined to work with sundown 1/0 terminals it is about 0.002 smaller then the actual hole in the amp so it will be a tight fit and the contact area should be more then enough

You got the surface area of the screw for contact plus rest of the radius of the opening

For a comparesion look at those 1/0 to 4awg reducers they are made square so they only have a very small contact area right

Also I assume if 1 company uses .5 as the terminal size why wouldn't everyone else do the same? It isn't like one company use .5 while another uses .625 right aren't there standards in place ?

I'm sure if they are built for the specific amp they would work great....I have seen variation in terminal size from amp to amp...( just based on how easy / hard it was to fit the same size wire into them)

I have thought about having a set made for my amp before as well.... pm me a price on a set... I might be interested in a set for my sd8000.... I will use copper... I will likely supply you the material, I can get some pretty good deals on metals.
