I had my Alpine Imprint done at HiFiCentre Whitby.
After much f-ing with software, they finally got it done.

I buy parts at Custom Sound in Ajax- Hunt St. They are great for standard installs.
I've seen some custom boxes there, he must have somebody who builds them for him.

I had speakers installed at Whitby Hi-Fi. Connections were not soldered, windows would hit the speakers when rolled down. Not impressed.

After purchasing my CX-7 with the Bose system in it I stopped in at Whitby Hi-Fi to price some gear to replace the whole thing.

They recommended I just put a bigger amp on the Bose speakers because "the Bose speakers are really great sounding. I don't know why you'd want to replace those". Now anyone who tells me Bose speakers sound good tends to put up a major reg flag in my mind but then they also added,

"We've done lots of Mazda's and know the CX-7's very well". I tried to make them understand that you can't just swap out the amp on the CX-7 and use the factory HU as all the processing including volume gets done at the amp but it kept going over there head (since then a part has been made that allows this but it was not produced at that time).

And it's not just one idiot there, I spoke to three people while I was there.

I didn't want their opinion anyway I just wanted a decent price on gear which can be had if you deal with the owners but instead I was blessed by the three not-so-wise men. I would recommend staying away from Durham shops. I haven't found one that I would trust to touch my car.
