Dust Cap came off
#1
Hey my dust cap came off and I was wondering if 100% silicon would work?
I called the Canadian distributor for RE and they said use E6000 or 100% silicon but I just want to make sure the crap I have is right.
I just had some tubes of Dow Corning RTV Sealant 732 Mulit-Purpose Sealant
Black
100% silicone
permanantly flexible
-65C to 232 C
Resistant to Weathering
I want to get my cap glued back on caues there is a competition on Sat at 11 am.
Thanks,
Craig G

Ya but I alredy took it out of my box and it's a RE HC 15. If you have seen them, the dust cap basically is the cone. Not too sure if I should be running it with that part off.
Thanks for the reply and I'll try that stuff out.

NOOOOOOOOO DO NOT USE SILICONE ON THE SPEAKER, A PROPER LATEX BASED GLUE IS WHAT'S NEEDED.
THE SILICONE WILL SHRINK OVER TIME, AND WHEN THE DUSTCAP FALLS OFF AGAIN IT WILL BE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO REPAIR.
EVEN AYLMER'S OR LEPAGE'S WOOD/PAPER GLUE WILL WORK BETTER.
