I wouldn't know the difference as much as to tell you which is better. but in my opinion I love my alpine iva-w505 and I think you'd love it too. I have my ipod adapter which is kickass and I can play movies from my ipod on my deck while parked. also I got the bluetooth unit which after having it switched for an older model that is more compatible with my phone it works great. you can change tons of settings such as colors and sound settings, it's better than others even since you can up your sub to a max of +15 with treble and bass going to +7 for your highs/mids. I don't even know how else to describe how amazing it is. check it out.

I got that p4000dvd at futureshop for 320 plus taxes, Keep n eye out for deals on that unit.
I love it, it is easy to use and super fast. Onl thing is it's low on features and graphic polish.
