As long as your gear sounds good to your ear, who really cares what other people have to say about it? That is the bottom line....

Earthquake seems to have the reputation of being lower end and dirty. Still, they seem to be a good buy for the dollar if your into some SPL but not super hardcore.

Yup, I agree with the above statements and would like to add one. There power ratings are generous. Although they can handle the power they claim, they cannot sustain that power. Feed them half power or so and you should be good.

Just today I had an interesting experience with my modded D2. I had it unhooked and it was sitting on my box with no wires even near it as I ran more zero guage to power my soon-to-come amps. I heard a pop and I looked up as magic smoke began to pour out of my amp.... Damn thing worked fine for countless 0.5 and even a few 0.25 ohm burps, but unhook it and the things blows!! Cracked it open and it turns out the capacitors that run into where the protection circuit normally is didnt dissapate properly and just popped. Never believed it when people said they blew without power going to them, but I guess they do. I am going to redo the modification myself this time, cause I think earthquake stuck some 1000 uFcaps where there should be 700's. I guess I am out for a few comps while I wait for my new amps.... I love the amp though and it definately put out some power.
