I'm new here and to the "SPL - not sure what it stands for" scene....

just wanted to know if the old school earthquake amps are any good....don't know a model # cuz the amp cover was painted.....but the dude i got it from said it was one of the top of the line amps back in the days.....

so i guess i just want to know if they are good amps....

thanks

take off the bottom plate and post a pic. if u were told it was a top amp then u probably have an Earthquake PHD2 model. does the external heat sink have fins thru out?

that amp is good for power, very good. but they blow up fast and random if its just a matter of luck. i've pop maybe 8 of those in one season a few years back but it makes huge power.
