I have found one locally for $175. Is this a good buy? Will it give me the rated 2000 rms @ 2ohms, and not have problems? Will be in an SPL set up...

A good price, but don't expect that much power out of it at 2 Ohms.

You'll want to drop it down to abou .5 for burps in order to get about 1800-2000w out of it.

Also, make sure you have a solid electrical or it will go up in smoke

 

what Jordy said is true but for $175 you can't go wrong

 

strong amp at 0.5 ohm, very good for burps.

for music its ok, wont do 2k at 2 ohm, more like 1400 watts. but for that price thats a great amp to compete with.
