Eclipse Audio

Hi Fellas,

Could someone comment on the subs & components offered by Eclipse...I remember hearing Eclipse Subs a long time ago and was impressed, but I'm unaware of anyone in Ottawa who sells this line...I'm still reasearching my system for the Prelude and looking to make a buy in the early new-year for spring time.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, the gear is still kick a$$. The aluminum cone series of subs continue to be amazing, the new amps rock, the component speakers sound great and in my opinion, Eclipse still makes one of the best cd players in their price range.

Guys, thanks for thw quick responses...I'm thinking about the 12" 8000 sub, the 3-way 6.5 comps and the entry-level 6X9's...

I'm also curious about the mounting depth of the comps as I don't wan't to have to do any extra work than required...

Welcome to Shamus Customz

Shamus Customz: Eclipse Car Audio

Shamus Customz sells them, they are down on bank street. I got all my gear there and definitly recommend them, james is a really good guy and their installers did a great job on my jl subs

They are a bit pricey (compared to online prices, but those are very difficult to beat for a local store), he is a local shop and I dont mind paying a bit more because I got all his advice+a deal on the install. Plus i didnt really want to pay the big box stores for my setup (the dont really offer anything good anyways) and shipping is a bitch for subwoofers.

You can try and talk him down a little in price, tell him "dunkley" sent you to get on his good side.

Yeah, I'm going to do some math etc...As I was thinking of buying from an Ebay store, but I'm still on the fence. I might just buy something small to test the waters.

I bought my Alpine Head Unit at onlinecarstereo.com and got hit with $97 duty charge

No matter how I choose to procure my goods, I will be needing an install expert so Shamus will definitly be on the short-list.

My goal is to do some custom wood work myself and leave the electrical to the pros...I'll post some pics when I start my project as any thoughts, advice and constructive critisim will be much appreciated.

that is why I didn't buy online as well.

the main installer, buck, has done some really crazy setups in the past. he had an mr2 with custom everything then some douche stole it.

Ouch...that sucks. Where do you install all that type of stuff in an MR2, must be pretty crafty. I like those cars alot, mostly because I don't see many. When I was in Cali I saw lots of the newer ones, very sweet cars IMO.
