Is the Eclipse AVN5435 head unit to outdated to consider these days? I am running an AVN726e in my main car, but I came across a brand new AVN5435 for $400 that I thought I could install in the wifes car.

Only problem is there are barely any reviews and it is not listed at all on the archives to the eclipse website.

Main question is it a worth while install?

are steering wheel controls still available with this unit? or do I have to buy another piece?

I have the steering wheel interface in stock. For that price it is a great deal.

Since the unit is brand new it comes with the original Navigation disc that was in the box. I was wondering if there is a newer Nav disc that I could use with it? would it read the Disc that comes with the AVN6610?

Has anyone ordered an eclipse Nav update CD? I tried pm'ing mr2nr but I guess he doesnt have the answer I need as he hasn't replied.

Anyone else with some insight on my question?

 

The software is available but it is priced at more than what you paid for the unit. I am not sure what version of software you would require as there are two of them. I hopefully will have an answer on that later today.
