Eclipse AVN5510 in Canada

Hey all,

was wondering if someone could help me with this..

Im looking to purchase an Eclipse AVN5510 unit...

Cheapest im finding these are under $1000 on ebay... Im a bit worried about the duties fees and just the fact that its not a local item.

Anyone know of anywhere with the Toronto region (or Canada in general) with decent pricing for this unit?

Places like cardomain are more trustworthy than ebay... but the price is a good $500 or so more.

Thanks in advance

also... when you go here...

http://reviews.cnet.com/car-audio/eclipse-avn5510-cd-dvd/4505-3425_7-32400486.html?tag=vid.1&autoplay=true

it mentions:

"The bad: The system offers no support for XM Satellite Radio or DVD Audio"

whats that all about? What do they mean by no support for DVD Audio?

hey

the system will play dvds with no problem. what they mean is that this particular eclipse system does not support xm radio or sirus which i doubt you will be getting anyways.
its a great unit.
i have the eclipse avn 5496 navigation unit which has the inbuilt 30gb harddrive. so you can burn your music onto the harddrive of the unit. in other words , put a cd in once and you never have to put it in again as it rips the music onto the harddrive. also accepts memorystick duo and plays dvds, mp3s etc. shoot me an offer if interested.i took it out of my lexus last week and am saving it for my next lexus but it seems the next car i get might already have inbuilt navigation. i might let it go for the right price.i will also include a back up camera with it. and i will let you keep all the songs i have on the harddrive already for free
let me know
am local too.

means it won't play dvd-a discs, which are dvd's that are specifically designed for ultra high fidelity audio, it will play regular dvd's...movies mostly. There are very few players that play dvd-a, and very few titles available in this format right now as there is ongoing issues with different formats and manufacturers. It may never become popular, or another format may eventually win out in the ultra high fidelity war. Anyway, chances are if you're not aware of it, you probably don't need it.
