Eclipse iPC-106 compatibility

I have an Eclipse CD-8061 head unit that I am trying to connect my iPod up to.

I can only find limited info on the iPC-106.
ECLIPSE iPC-106

The oldest CD player they list is a CD-8062 which I believe is the same as mine, except the next model year.

Does anyone know if this unit will work with my CD-8061 or if there is a better way of connecting up to my stereo?

Also what would the "limited" connectivity consist of?

Thanks,
Brad

Brad, I'll do some checking into this for you if you like. You can also PM Westec for this info should you need it right away. He is the tech rep in Canada for Eclipse.

An Ipod will play on any stereo with an Aux Input. All you have to do is convert the ipod output to RCA line level. Any Generic LOC and some adaptor cables will do it. You will have no control over the Ipod from the deck, but if you just want sound, it'll work.

So then, one day you'll be on the highway and playing with your ipod, trying to read the mini screen to find the song you want and KABOOM, head on into another car. Hope its not me.

I was hoping to avoid hooking it up that way. It is nice and easy to control through the Pioneer deck in my other vehicle. It would have been excellent to have the same deal in the car. I'll have to decide if I really "need" the iPod in my car.

Thanks again,
Brad

Sounds like a great excuse to upgrade to a new Eclipse cd player + free i-pod interface...... I'm sure that someone will pick up the old CD8061 from you.
