Question Eclipse and USB drives/sticks

Like "a19215" I too am having a problem with getting my Eclipse deck
(7200 mkii) to recognize a new usb drive(lexar 16gb, Fat32 format). I reformatted after not being able to get it to read my usb, like Ipchouniard said in a19215's thread. It read the first four songs I put on it(not in a folder). As soon as I put those songs in a folder the deck wouldn't read the drive and it had to be re-formatted. My much older "Mobile disk X4" 2gig works with out issue with multiple folders. Are Eclipse decks perhaps not capable of handling larger sized usb drives? I wanted this larger drive so i could put some of my larger discographies on one drive(AC/DC 4gb, Iron Maiden 7.48gb...etc,etc).
Any other Eclipse owners also encounter these issues with larger sized USB's(16/32gb)? What make's do you guys use and what size?
Thx.

I own the CD5030 and use it with a USB stick daily.

When I first installed the deck I used a cheap noname USB stick and it caused me some problems. When I would turn off the car and turn it back on again I could no longer use the stick. So I had to unplug it, and plug it back in. I thought meh it's probably because of this cheap stick (4 Gigs).

I eventually bought a Corsair 8gig stick, and I haven't had a problem with it since.

I encourage you to try a different brand and possibly a different size. I am pretty sure you will find one that works for you!

Oh and make sure you format with the USB's default system (Just in case you didn't).

Def. made sure I formatted it on it's default system.
Funny about the cheapo not working for you, since that is the one that's working great for me, since I've had the deck(paid like 10 bucks for it on a FS clearance table).
Guess I'll have to see what the 'puter shops have and test them out before final sale. Maybe I'll go stupid big and get a 32'er. Thx Darin.

No lol the usb drive was $10. The Deck was part of a package MR2NR hooked me up with.

Thx Westec....I briefly scanned the online manual but didn't see a size restriction, guess I'm stuck with 8gigs then

A 10$ stick maybe the problem, and I am not sure if it is limited to 4-8 Gig sticks. Try out a buddies USB branded stick or something :].

Get the Corsair 8gig, awesome stick :].

Also the CD5030 is an excellent deck, and I think your deck is a level higher...

No no no...the $10 stick one is the old one that works great...for the $50 I spent on the 16gb I should be able to get a GOOD 8gb stick.
My 7200 mkii absolutely rocks...don't think many decks out there are better(but I'm sure someone will say otherwise), I've had ZERO issues with it, reads usb's fast(well ones that work lol), read's the mrs Itouch quickly, lots of SQ options to play with. The BT is not as bad as some ppl say, sounds like I'm on a speaker phone when reception is poor and crystal clear when it's good. Some ppl don't like it's display due to fade out but I rarely have this issue and truthfully it's a minor issue at best.
