The recordable media levy has been in place for awhile.
As far as I know the tax on electronics is for big ticket items such as TV's and computers. And as far as I know only Alberta is considering it. I mean it doesn't make since to do it Sask, as they have just recently discovered fire and the wheel right

my wife's company works on the same floor in an office building with a non profit company that reports to the goverment on the electronic and appliance industy.they told me nine months ago that the goverment was looking at a tax on the manufactures of electronics. it seems that alot of the electronic items sold now adays is considered disposable. and are land fills are full of $59.00 vcr's ,$29.00 phones,$77.00 dvd's and so on. so the goverment wants the makers of such goods to pay for the cost of the land fills.

Definitely a good way to kill the economy. Governments are good at that, so I would not bet my life on them not doin' it. Anyway, I try to do as much business under the table. I don't mind payin' my fair share but at the rate it's going they might as well take all our paychecks and give us sustainance money...hey that sounds like communism. At close to 60% total tax paid yearly, we're gettin' very close to being red.
