You forgot the sub box, countless runs of 0 gauge, strong battery(s) and hours and hours of tuning.

Depending on how many watts you are running, you may require more than 1 run of 0 gauge. Also, the more runs, the less heat in the wire and the less resistance to current flow there is.

Optima yellow tops are generally accepted as a decent battery. Canadian Tire sells Purple Haze batteries which I've heard are okay. I am only running my stock battery as I have been to cheap to buy a yellow top until I fry the battery I have (I do not compete, or at least have not yet). Batcaps are good.

There are a lot of good batteries out there, but I haven't looked in to them for myself yet.

Less voltage drop and as for the battery, IMO its a given.

your asking for trouble with a cheap / old battery and a vehicle with high drain, also if your goin for big SPL see about a bigger ( amp outputwise) alternator

Power- lots of it, never enough! more wire more battery
box- experiment on best size
box- experiment on port size, position and length
box- experiment on location
amp- buy one that can do what your asking it to do (either produce lots of voltage or more likely produce lots of current into low impedance's
woofer- buy the one that does what you want not what looks best

interesting, no one mentioned the car itself. some cars are much better suited for spl applications than others.
