exile amps

hey, so im thinking of getting a set of infinity component speekers and im looking for an amp to power them and my back speekers which are just mtx thunder-domes. anyway i was looking at a 4 channel exile amp that was onsale at FS. anyone have experience with these amps or heard anything about them. they have no reputation as far as my knowledge goes. another thing, would it make much of a difference to me having a 2 or 4 channel amp. im not huge on car audio but i like my music to sound good. thanks for any help.

heres a link to that amp if u wana take a look

If this is the Exile 600.4 that they have on sale for $299, it is a nice little amp. There are better options available to you if you are open to them. I have a deal coming in on the Infinity Reference 7541A amplifier, 111w rms x 4 as compared to the 75w rms x 4 on the Exile. Interested, drop me a PM.

For that price I would suggest you contact one of the site vendors. There's one located in Ingersoll (CCA handle smartass) which isn't too far from you. He should be able to get you a much better amp for that budget....

The amps at FS are exclusive to them. If you wanted to go with Exile amps, find a dealer who sells the true exile series. They had to give up on alot of there performance, so they could be able to be used with FS car audio lineup.

Exile is owned and operated by the old powers of Phoenix Gold, good gear. Better deals to be had though as MR2NR said. $50 more will get you a full blown SQ driven Nakamichi PA4100 which was $749. And lots of others.

I dont know where SOME3GUY gets his info.....but there is only one "true" series of Exile amps.....and FS has them.....and it is not exclusive to them either....although they are the biggest dealer of the product. I'm not aware of ANYONE who has the fake series......lol !!

I have several dealers who are Exile dealers.....and they are not FS shops.....and they too have the "true" series.

I love guys that say stuff that is completely false.......if your gonna state something to be factual, make sure it is.

As for the performance.....trust me....they (Exile) gave nothing up in performance. These amps deliver some good clean....serious power for a reasonable price. 2 year warranty too (over the counter exchange) (if installed by an auth. dealer).
The Exile guys are ex-engineers and techs that worked for Phoenix Gold (not owned).....and decided to put their knowledge in a direction that they felt PG wasn't.....and they have done a great job in what they have delivered.

The company has been in Canada for 3 years.....but the guys that designed and built the line are veterans in manufacturing and design of 12 volt products.

As for whether its the best amp for $299.....you'll get 100 different opinions....especially from people who dont sell the product.
If they dont sell it....are they gonna tell you to go buy it cause its a good deal....no....they want you to buy whatever their best value is for $299 or whatever price it may be......in what they carry.

The X600.4 for $299 is great value for the money......as is the Infinity amp, whether you can hear the differance between 111 watts and 75 watts per channel is questionable.....usually to be able to hear a differance the human ear needs a 3db differance....which would mean that the Infinty or any other amp for that matter....would need to be 150 watts per channel in order to do so.....!!

So believe what you will....!!

And oh......the Infinity may be $50 cheaper, but they are factory refurbished with only a 30-day warranty(versus a 2-year warranty / Over the Counter Exchange on the EXILE amp).....doesn't sound like that great of a deal after all to me....you decide though...its your dough.

MR2NR 07-14-2007 05:57 AM

Grant, Grant, Grant.....my Infinity has a full warranty on it.....not 30 days like you mentioned.....
