Hey everyone, my girlfriend took delivery of a brand new Saturn Ion Quad Coupe a few weeks ago....

She noticed the other day that some songs, at this point Bring me to life by Evanescence and Addicted by Simple Plan...Anyway, at low volumes, there is a crackling/distortion type of noise from the rear speakers..the car just has the standard speaker package, 6's all the way around...

Any idea as to what the issue may be? I don't think they are blown because if you turn the volume up the noise goes away and it isn't on every song....

Thanks!!

If you find out the cause Andrew I'd appreciate you sharing. I have the same problem in my 2002 Golf. It seems that only on certain rock songs the passenger side factory tweeter makes a distorted noise. On all other music there is no problem.

So please update us with the identified problem.

Thanks.

Yeah, I do agree, the same cd was used in my car with no noise at all..

Is there anything else we can check?

She will be having it looked at early this week.

I'd just take the car back to the dealer since it's new.. why waste your time trying to fix it

unless of coarse you can get the master installer to come down from vancouver!!
