Cut and paste from another forum (you have to be logged in) Your best bet, if possible, is to listen in person. I had an Audison amp for a sort while, nice build quality and sound quality also, I have heard good things about Audison, not cheap though:
**** "Hey, I am looking to upgrade and build a system, I have a after market deck which would be next after the speakers, i was just wondering if anybody uses Hertz speakers/has them had experience with them i just would love to know pros and cons and if i getting some good speakers or just i shop around more.........
**** "I've used the energy components and the hi energy coax speakers. both 6.5". I didn't like the sound of the energy components, they had the same kind of generic japanese sound like alpine pioneer etc (Yes i know the speakers are italian, but they didn't sound great). The hi energy coax are a different story. they sound amazing. much easier to install with a much better sound. They don't sound cheap or japanese (which they shouldn't). I would recomend an amp for them too, deck power won't bring out their full potential. I ran half of an audison LRx4.100 to them, but any decent 100x2 amp should make them sing.Hope that helps"
**** I'm running a set of the 6.5" high energy components off a 2 channel pg xenon amp, im no audiophile or anything but they sound pretty damn good to me."
**** Thanks for the help it is greatly apreciated..."
**** Anything starting from high energy is half decent
