Ok quick question...

was installing some speakers in my buddies car today, I was following the OEM wire colour chart I found on installdr.com, then just to double check I check another site streetdreams, and both the + and - for the right front were different combos...

there was 2 wires, light and dark green and both sites had the + and - reverse order...

I just installed the new ones by looking at the way the OEM was setup, but in a situation how would you decifer the + and -'ve of the OEM. I know you can watch the cone to see which way it moves but its hard to do that... another other methods?

when you unplug the speaker, pop it with a battery...if the cone moves out, check which terminal the + of the battery is touching...the wire that plugs into that terminal is the +.

hope that made sense.

^what he said...since you are wiring it all at this point, pick what colors you want to use.

another trick is if you have an aftermarket harness kicking around for it, plug it in, then you can see exactly what colors are what.

And for the record, im assuming its a GM vehicle, so the light green would be +.
