ok but lets say you have no reference at all, and you have no way in telling what wire on the deck is what...

besides the above mentioned is there any other way? Im just trying to think from an electronics engineering standpoint...

Like im trying to see if theres a method or tool out there to see the output and see if the sine wave is in reverse polairty or forward coming from the leads...etc...

I have everything wired fine im just thinking from a wondering point of view.

Buy a metra wiring harness from where ever, you can buy them at Walmart as well, plug it in. Trace the factory wires form the plug to the colors...it that easy. COst you $10.00..

jeeez

I know how to trace them, Im already done everything, im not a n00b to car audio, I am trying to stir up some info on if there was a way to do it through electronics perspective using equipment.

Everyone is posting the same damn thing... what Im trying to get across is the fact that if there was no information available at all, yet you had tons of electronic equipment lying around at your desposal like an oscilliscope, multimeter, etc is there a way of using tools like that to diagnose?

Or would you have to pull apart the deck and trace the leads back to the PCB board and figure out which trace leads to the positive and which to the negative etc... purely from an electronics standpoint.. since I am taking that in college so I always have a nack to want to know how to go about finding it the hard way..

hmm kew thanks Dukk

as far as oscilliscope I tried it yesterday but each time i swtiched the leads the sine wave was still the same, so that theory was a no go for me.. Everything is working fine now, I just brought up this discussion for simply discussion only, as I was wondering how it could be done.
