I just got a car, my first car actually. It's a 2002 oldsmobile alero. I wanted to get a system put into it within the coming weeks and needed some help just to make sure I'm getting equipment that will run well together! I already have bought all the wiring I will need and have a JVC headunit so the amp and subwoofers are the next things on my list. These are what I have in mind:

Subs:
Rockford Fosgate Punch P1 P1-2X12 Dual 12" Loaded Subwoofer Box

Amp:
Kenwood KAC-9105D (kac9105d) 1800W Class D Monoblock Amplifier

I picked that amp understanding that both subs would be sharing the same channel, thus receiving half the power, and at 4 ohms (thats just specs on the site). I don't want to overpower too much but at the same time I want the get the very most out of them that I can. The only stipulation being that I've read wiring the sub up in parallel will cut the ohms in half and running them in series will double it.

I don't want to double the ohms, because 900 watts from that amps is almost double the RMS of the subs combined. At least I THINK I wouldn't want to do that, lol. But I also don't want to cut the ohms to 8 because then the amps only pushing 250, and I'm not sure whether the subs will be sharing that 250 or if it's each. If it's each, thats a perfect amount of power.

But again I'm new to all this so I wanted to hopefully learn some stuff from some professionals and experienced guys here! What do you all think?

They will all work fine together as long as you have everything set right. Ex: gains, crossovers and a good box.Better to over power then under power

That amp has the ability to put our 0 to ~ 900 watts rms, just lower your gain accordingly.

Have you already bought these items or are you just thinking of buying them?
