Frequencies?
Ok here's my issue, i'm trying to tune my new system(7200mkii in 4sp+sw setup) to get my metal to sound just right. I'm not able to get the kick drums to KICK as they should, i've played with the lower frequencies on it and just can't seem to get the drums to come in hard. When i play hip-hop/rap i can make my *** vibrate(that didn't sound good) but with the metal nothing, am i missing a key frequency range
? i'm still playing with the crossover so suggestions to the crossover points and slope rates are welcome. thx in advance.
Fronts are Eclipse SC6500's
Rears are Eclipse SP5710's
Sub is a RF P210S4
Speakers powered by a Poineer GM4300
Sub powered by an Ultimate T-1200

The attack and decay of the kick is where you I think you need to be looking.
not the sub frequencies.
make sure your midrange (where attack starts) is blending well with your midbass. the sub plays very little if anything in a "kick" note.
try turning your sub off to do this until you get a nice "snap"...then add the sub back, it should "kick" if it doesn't, the sub is overwhelming and you need to turn it down.

dude i listen to metal in my car , and my DD12 Pounds harsh double bass action , subs tuned to around 80hz....watch the midbass on your speakers with metal , try around 125hz +, or as you start to get louder youll get hella distortion , if youre really into metal.....and want painful asskicking bass hit up 3 dd 8" 's those bastards will make you puke !!!!! i did 3 in an s10 for a guy and they are ridiculous!
hip hop is recorded super dirty , with added digital bass hence tech n9ne almost turns my sub inside out ......but COB is fantastic! ...tune your system to the type of music you listen to primarily....then back off the non F when youre hiphopping .....

unfortunately no room for any new subs in budget, or trunk(grocery wagon atm), my list is JP,Slayer,Metallica(All black and older),COB,Amon Amarth,LC,ITM. i'm going to follow the above advice regarding dc'ing the sub and going from there. I'll let you guys know how i made out.

You can hear various frequencies. It may give you an idea of which ones you want to concentrate on.
