in 50 years with the market going how it is in audio, we'll have $1.29 construction paper cone speakers, supercomputers in the car that will EQ those speakers to sorta sound good on music so compressed all vocals sound digitized.

IMO, in 50 years .., or less vehicles will be on a dedicated magnetic track, that will connect the vehicle to a source of power via alternating Gauss field and display the holographic information on the dash via fiber-optics.
The vehicle will be equipped with various sizes of transducers made up of the vehicles upholstery panels.
*cone of silence for the kids is optional

Actually auto makers are going to 48 volt.
The Toyota Prius already uses a 48 volt a/c compressor and power steering.

How would a 24 (48) system affect the car audio industry?

More volts, more power. I'd like to see a crazy 20"ish sub that isn't as stupid as a jackhammer.

More volts =less amperage and smaller wiring, and slightly more efficient.. not really more power. a 48v 40A alternator still takes at least 4 horsepower to turn. it's more efficient but they won't be doing monster sized power systems in cars. Look for regenerative breaking. everything being hybrid biodiesels. so more electrical demand sacrificing electrical headroom.
