I'd suggest tru tech amps, very clean, very poewrful. the H-1 is a very solid A/B class amp.

The "nominal impedance" of a driver is not the complete picture. I have a LinearX meter that measures impedance across the freq range and it graphs the impeadance for you. You will find that example a 4 ohm driver does dip into the 2 ohm range, and even goes up as high as 200 ohms.

I think you ran into a "drop" that was just scean as a dead short by the amplifier.

YEA, I AGREE... But the amp should not go into protection mode..it should just heat up a lil more...

thats why it's called protection. Especially at that impedance, it's almost a dead short. And I bet that the drop was below .5

Kind of like if I stangle you and you can't breath do you just go red, or going into protection mode and stop me ?

Most manufacturers will state a higher impedance inorder to avoid those types of issues. So the amps will probably play down to .5.
