Getting a new car, and I need help with some basics
The car is a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE.
1)When doing the 'big 3' do I leave the stock wires alone? For example would be the alternator; It will have a stock wire going to the fuse box, but I would be adding a wire to the battery. What about the stock ground cables from the engine block and battery (to frame)?
2)I'm about to buy a pair of Hybrid Ovation 6" components; Should I build some sort of sealed enclosure for them, or just give them the whole door? (Reading from other threads that it depends on the speaker. Keep in mind I want more 'tight' bass then loud, as I mainly listen to metal)
3)What about the speaker getting wet? do I have to build something for it? how wet does it get in there?
4) When adding Dynamat to the door do I have to clean it? I was reading I need to scrub it with rubbing alcohol. That seems like it would take a really long time..
If I understand this, I need to deaden the inside of the door (the ribs??) the outside (where the speaker mounts to), but what about the inside of the plastic door mold?
How much Deadening would I need for both of the front doors? Is fatmat any good?
Anyone ever worked in a 00-05 sentra before? I'm hopping there is a easy hole in the fire wall like my Sunfire (had a huge rubber housing under the steering wheel.) Also from what I've been reading, I'll need about a 1/2" spacer for my Ovation's.
Any other tips?

(To start the wire from the alternator should go directly to the battery you will want to replace that one for sure as well as the ground from the engine block to frame and battery to frame as well)

(A sealed enclosure will sound better just make sure it gets enough volume or it may sound tinny, door panels are ok but if you could do kick panels you could achieve better sound quality do to evening out the distances to the speakers a little)

1) If the goal is to increase the flow of current, why on earth would one be removing a wire..... leave the wires there and add to it. Make sure you fuse the line from the alternator to the battery.
2) The Morel midbass drivers are designed to operate in a door ideally. This does not mean that you cannot use a small box for them but I would go without for now.
3) Your speaker will indeed get wet, more from humidity than open water. If you have a waterfall on the inside of your door, make some rain guards to cover the top, sides and back of the speaker. (like are commonly found in Hondas)
4) Definitely clean the door. Do the outer skin and the inner skin. I would not worry about the strong structural supports. A little bit of trunkliner on the backside of a doorpanel does wonders to keep it from rattling. I use B-Quiet materials, have for years. If you really want a top end deadener, Black Hole #5 is what you want. I will be ordering some in the next 2 weeks.

I just figured if I was going to run 1/0 from alt to bat the old wire would be redundant unless hes running a 300 amp alt or something and 2 wires would just look messier but just my 0.2
