Gembella was famous for their widebody conversions, and headlight modifications, not so much for their performance mods. That was a tough one.

Yes. I am not sure of the exact year, but it was Put on by George Reed and was called Thunder on Wheels. At least that was the first big one, I am sure there were little parking lot "I am louder than you" comps going on before that, but George Reed started the real organized show.

 

Ohh yeah - I forgot about the Thunder on Wheels stuff - although I would argue that it was mostly SPL and mostly only in Texas
