A generic ported box will probably not be much help.....your sub needs a larger enclosure than the average 12" sub.....that's not a bad thing, but you will be much happier with the right box......:smokin:

You can take the spec sheet from the website to that shop and ask them how much to build you that box.....even if it costs twice as much it will be worth it.....:smilie_da

If that's too much, a sealed box around 2cuft will work OK with your sub, doesn't need a subsonic filter and they probably sell them for less than the ported ones......the sealed box will sound better than the wrong size ported box will.

if you have the ability to, get the local audio shop to build the enclosure that the Diamond Audio website suggests...

and to others... is it just me or does that suggested enclosure from diamond audio look like a T-Line enclosure?

Yes, it does. :smilie_da I'd find out how much to have someone build this enclosure that BRG pointed out on their site. :D With the length of that port. It should hit some sick lows.

I bought a ported box today and hooked it up wasn't that much different them my sealed box although now I keep the sub a 4 instead of 8 or 9 and alot more things rattle in my car but doesn't sound that much louder.

Thats because like the others said pre fab boxes are very limited in performance. If you want to notice a substantial diffrence in the speakers performance you have to have one built for you or find a pre fab very close to the recommended specs of the manufactuer.

ok thanks I think I might try to make a box on the diamond site with my Father in law he has lots of tools. do you know if Home Depout would cut all the peices for me and round the edges?

Don't know if they round the pieces but they will do all the cuts for like $1 a cut.

THe only rounding off needed is the ends of the port walls.....you can do this yourself with a sander, they don't have to be perfect......:smilie_da

If you get HD to cut your wood, check the dims of each piece as they do it.....they are not known for exact cuts at the best of times, some of their people know how to work the panel saws better than others. I usually just get them to make the major cuts and do the rest myself.....:smokin:

Have fun building the box, it's a good feeling getting it done and listening to the results when you do.
