gold/copper vs platinum wire/connectors

I've always been fond of gold plated copper connectors, reasonably cheap and as previously mentioned gold does make for a great protective cover and when you bolt, screw or otherwise fasten it down the gold being a soft metal kind of lets the fastener dig in to it making a good contact.

I am not aware of anyone using platinum in commercial connectors
