Good distributors

It seems all the Westerners are choosing Western Canadian distributers mainly. Of course you will favour the guys out west because you receive next day shipping. The only downfall with the Canadian market in relation to distribution of products is there is only one distributer for a product and if the distributer is on the other side of Canada service problems are not taken care of as quick. In Ontario I hear the same complaints about distributers that are situated in BC. Many dealers do not want to deal with them. Just thought I would add my 2 cents.

^ Not exactly true. I consider Korbon one of the best distributors hands down.
I find though that many of the eastern distributors aside from maybe Korbon and GemSen do "enough" business in the Ontario+east market that they don't care much to promote out west. I couldn't even name salespeople for many of these companies. For example, you see little to no Kaption, Memphis, and other such brands out west
You don't even see much of the audio brands from AutoMobility/Jestar out west, just alarm/starter and video stuff..

I guess our reps at Automobilty and Jestar are not doing their job out west. In Ontario we are one of the strongest companies because we work the territory hard.

HMMM!!
I sure see alot of Eclipse, boomerang, planet audio, lightning audio, rosen, predator, audiovox, myron davis etc
here in the west all from automobility/jestar?? However i would agree that it would seem that most local shops would and always will support the local distributors out of convenience. If i were to start a new shop though i would probably
go with non local distributors just so i wasnt competing with the 30 other shops that have been dealing with the same local distributors forever.
I think you will find today that most distributors local or not will and should bend over backwards for the dealer!!!!

Hmm, I can list every brand available here off the top of my head. Alpine, Pioneer, JVC, Panasonic, Clarion, Sony, Rockford, Kicker, Ultimate, MTX, Infinity, Myron & Davis. Some of those aren't full lines too.

nobody out west bought from jestar because steve boyle is the biggest waste of skin to ever grace the car audio world. the reps had no good support from steve in the west so he turns around and opens up a&b with eclipse to move boxes, devalues a great line by putting eclipse in a company that was 3/4's in the tank, im not to sure where eclipse goes from here but hopefully now that that douchbag isnt around maybe they will hire a good guy like charlie to help reestablish the line in bc, hey they already did that and screwed the guy around to the point that he quit, sorry about the rant but any talk of jestar gets my friggin blood boiling

I take it YOU must be their new rep eh?
Ok so you list:
I sure see alot of Eclipse,boomerang,planet audio,lightning audio,rosen,predator,audiovox,myron davis
Boomerang, Predator - oh look, starter/alarm stuff
Rosen, Myron Davis - hey, video..
And if not in an A&B or WalMart I don't see Eclipse, Planet, or Lightning. I'm sure some indy's have it somewhere but I don't ever see them.
No mention of ADS, Orion or PPI.... Those are pretty minor companies though I guess.
I don't know you Charlie but the last decent rep that Jestar had in BC IMO was Pez. After that it was a pretty bad string of pretty bad reps shoving pretty bad products..
I wish you luck digging out of that legacy.

if pex was the best rep jestar has ever had out west, there has been some pitiful representation for the last decade, ive never laffed so hard as when a former employer banned pez from ever setting foot in the store again because he busted him for lying outright, pez was speachless when he got busted. pez's face went redder than his hair, i remember it like it was yesterday, pez is a real stand up guy
