Stay away from the AVIC, they're VERY slow.
I've installed several, every single one is slow to respond to touch, and the voice recognition isn't the greatest either.
Have a look at some of the other major brands, I'm sure someone has something a little better

I'm not a fan of Pioneer either.
I have herd good things about those new Kenwoods.
Of course you can't go wrong with Eclipse
Other's may disagree but I like the Clarion HU as well

the clarion is just as slow as the pioneer when it comes to responding to the touch. The Eclipses are nice but expensive and there technical support leaves much to be desired

I told you some would disagree
Well my HU is the JVC KW-AVX800 and the response time is great.
Its by far not the best product out there but for the money (450.00 Can on Ebay) it does the job.
5 volt preouts
USB and SD input
Divx/DVD.

This years models the KW-AVX810 even come with a removable face and are comparably priced.

yeah they're cheap but the screen looks like crap. I guess it's ok if you don't mind staring at lines(you can actually see the lines of display on the screen so well you could count them). to each there own I guess

I'm kinda bout that stuff so I would not be able to deal with it.
But like you said to each there own.

Did you have any advice to give or were you just going to trash everyone elses advice?

The Eclipse is on sale right now..... and technical support for me as a dealer of the line for 13 years has been stellar. Matter of fact the tech rep for Automobility in western Canada is a member on this site....
