Is this a good set up for the price?

boss audio 15" phantom series P156DVC and the amp is the Pyramid Audio PB2518 3000 watt AMP.

ive read that these are decent subs for the money that you spend on them and that if you wire them good and everything they will hit hard and beat some very expensive systems, The subs are 1250 rms 2000 peak and the amp is a 2 channel brigeable, 1500x 2 out puts at 2 ohm 3000 watt bridged at 1 ohm. I would be getting the whole set up for $250, so what do you think good deal or no?

I'm with you, I would stay well away from those and any other "flea market brands" Just remember you get what you pay for, and if you didn't pay alot don't expect to get alot. Having said that for $250 you really aren't wasting much and you never know it might sound alright. I doubt you will ever win an SQ comp but it may sound good enough for you.

I think you'd be throwing $250 out the window.

To be blunt, I wouldn't use that stuff if it were free. There is not a chance that the pyramid amp is putting out 1500x2 or 3000x1.

You would be much better off looking in the classifieds, and just getting one quality piece at a time.
