Good subwwofer match for Orion HCCA-D600
I am currently using this amp with a Orion BP-HP10D2. The amp may be a little underpowered for this sub but it worls well. I would like to build a custom enclosure into the wheel well. Which sub would be a nice match for this amp.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Well, from what I can find on this subwoofer, it has an RMS of 500, and the way its wired in its enclosure puts a 1 ohm load on the amplifier. Which means you need an amp that is 1ohm stable, and produces 500W at that load.
I've never seen an amp that produces that little power at 1ohm. Usually, with that little resistance they produce more. But I'll have quick look, and see what I find...
This is an Orion amplifier that would work, produces a little more than the RMS, but not enough to be concerned with.

This Fosgate amp produces 500W at one 1ohm.

That's two. Do some research, and see what you find. You need to find 1ohm stable amps that produce 500W of power on that load.
What kind of amplifier are you using right now?
Hope that helps a little.
EDIT: You're current amp only puts out 300W at 1ohm. Perhaps sell that one, and use the money to purchase the D1200.

TragicMagic, thanks for the info.
MR2NR, I am not too worried about my budget honestly. I just want to free up some space in my hatch. I will be (attempting) to build the enclosure myself. I was not planning on upgrading the amp and am generally happy with the sound of the current system. My only concern is the lack of space that this current enclosure is allowing me to live with.

I should learn how to read. You want to keep the amp, lose the subwoofer, then get a new one and put in the spare tire cavity...?
I don't understand why they state this amps max wattage is 600, when its 300W at 1ohm. How do they derive the 600W?
Anyway. Since that amp is 1ohm stable you could get a Dual Voice Coil 2ohm subwoofer that has an RMS of about 300. Wire the sub in parallel to put a 1ohm load on that amp.
Here's some DVC 2ohm 10" subs I could find.

Hopefully this post is more helpful to you.
