Was looking to get a pair for a while and i finaly have. i demoed alot of headphones on my search all sorts of seinheiser and the sony dj series as well as the sr80s that a friend of mine had.... the sr80s came close to being the pair but to play em with my ipod im sure an amp would have been necessary to push em to their full potential... so i settled on the sr60s , found em ordered em and just received em....right now im breaking em in, shoved em in a drawer with my ipod on medium/high ...and plus the look they have is pretty original and retro...

Radioshack has a great headphone amp for around 30$. I use it with my SR 60's and they sound great.

Congratulations on your purchase! Check this site for a comparison of the SR60 vs. the SR80:

Regarding the DIY headphone amp, search Google for "CMOY" or check this site:

I have the SR60's and have bought them for my kids too. Nice 'cheep'cans, you have to spend a lot more to get better
