Hardest deck to install
#1
Saw another thread and it made me think, What is the hardest deck you guys have ever installed.
Mine was a chev silverado, The only hard part about it was trying to get my father (his truck) to leave me alone, other then that it was a snap.
I have never realy had one that was challanging

I don't want to sound like a baby, but mine was quite a pain. There was a factory amp behind the glove box and seperate controller in the top of the dash with a cassette deck in the bottom where the aftermarket deck fits. So you have to have alot of stuff torn apart. But i've changed it a few times. Just time consuming.

I haven't had any decks that gave me too much problems, but the one that took the longest was when I had to remove the factory ford stereo, your supposed to use this special tool that I didn't have so I had to take off the whole center console and get it out from the back.

Mustang 5.0, i don't know if in the end you found out or not but the easiest method without the ford tool is to take two pieces of steel coat hanger. Bend them so you have four ends to enter the 4 holes push them in, now push them to the side and slide the deck out! If you had figured it out it might still help someone else!

Others that suck: pre-1982 Firebirds and Camaros with A/C. Yeah like those ducts are going back in Newer S-10/15/Blazers without tilt - that dash piece don't wanna slide over the steering column at all Older Subarus with the gigantic kit that screws to the front of the dash. Older Toyota trucks with the sub size twinshaft in the dash
