lol's well am sure MONSTER is laughing their ass off to people paying 200$ for 20ft of rca cables right now! lol ad some fiber sheild and call it the best cable! lol
probably cost them 10cent to do the entire 20ft of cable

Noel Lee has made a lot of money selling his Monster cable products, for good or bad he put the boutique cable industry on the map. Monster has put litz wire, solid core, magnetic flux tubes, unique windings in their cables for decades and prior to other cables fads.

from his add copy

"The Magnetic Flux Tube is a Monster technology that runs a dielectric down the middle of a connector bundle or a large insulated wire. The dielectric " breaks up" internal magnetic fields that are strongest at the center, thereby reducing the time-related distortions of conventional cable. This design far outperforms " look alike" cables of equivalent gauge in the areas of neutrality, smoothness and lack of high-end grittiness. Dynamic range is also more noticeable since the apparent noise level is reduced"

The plastic tube will do several things and in some cables a 'hollow' wire WILL perform better, what it does in an audio cable is for the user to judge... BUT IN A DC cable I think its primary function is to limit the amount of expensive metal in a conductor. It will shape the magnetic field, it will change the amount of the magnetic field (inductance if it were an AC circuit) but I guess it could be thought of as an energy storage technique. I think the proof of the pudding would be to measure the inductance of a wire with and without the magnetic flux tube. MY OPINION is it will do the exact opposite of their technology claim

Please do not confuse me with someone who likes Noel Lee, or supports his products

lol hahah that such a bunch of bull ,

i can run cat 5 cable on open sheild and it wouldn't do nothing
i can run open rca and it wont do much unless u place it near 100amp wire(0gauge)

if you know the law of cable as long the distance isnt more then 100ft away their not much lost of interruption between and b

I agree. That "Flux Tube" is just a fancy name for a coil former. A spool if you prefer.

I've got a 4 gauge run of the stuff in my car. It was free, I certainly wouldnt have paid extra for the plastic gimmick in the middle. Wire is wire.

My father is an electrician and that's what he told me .

in this application, cable is more or less cable as its function is DC power transmission (but their are good and then better products in this vein too as the materials of construction matter even in DC). I like fine strand copper cable

In signal transmission cable isnt always cable. We have 10base t, 100base t, gigabit ethernet, and cat 6, shielded cat 5 and cat 6 and water blocked cat 5 and cat 6... and those are almost the same aren't they. The geometry matters and there are mysteries for the cable manufacturers why some of their attempts at a successful wire design fail (spools and spools of failed R&D for shielded water blocked cat5)

how much effect on <20kHz audio?
