Just wonderin of you who just run their speakers off their head unit, what is the max vol you can go to without clipping and distortion? Lately my jvc has been crappin out on me at around 36/50. Also what speakers are you feeding

Pioneer DEH-6200 hooked up to the Explorer's Ford JBL system. It's new to me ( the suv ) so I'm still learning. But so far It pumps out real good sound in the mid 30 out of 62 ( or is that 52? ) I believe. Yes as far as I can tell it has the factory speakers and sub running from the factory amps. 60w for the comonents and 85w running the sub. Should be an step up when pulling the trailer next year. From the van that is!

I realize you are new, "hi...i'm new" So I will tell you some usefull info that will serve you well in the future. Never look at the volume numbers on your deck. It is too arbitrary a "measurement scale" to provide any usefull info. In fact on some JVC decks you can adjust the sclae from 0-50 to 0-30. I would be more worried about if the speakers are distorting before they are as loud as you want to listen. And if they are get an amplifier. If you have any speakers running off a head unit (factory or aftermarket) most of the distortion is from the amplifier section in the head unit, not the speakers. Some people say upgrading the speakers is the biggest bang for the buck soundwise in a system, and I would agree. But you will still be limited to pretty much the same overall volume with aftermarket speakers. Adding an amp will not only aloow you to have better SQ, it will also increase the overall volume capability of the system.

I had my front speakers amped.. then i took em off the amp so i could run a sub from the amp.. besides i never listen to my musci too loud anyways.. i just wanted some good clear distortion free vol at like 80 %
