Is there a difference in the quality of the music each will play or is it all about more features and higher power/voltage on the high end units?

Someone get me a cheep deck and I will do a head to head comparison with my CD700 (RCA outs only).

Im sure if there is a diff, it wouldnt be major.

Actualy I do have an older midline kenwood cd player laying around... maybe Ill give it a try.

There is a sonic difference but most are not prepared to pay the high prices for the better units. The option packages are what you end up paying for. The Eclipse 8053 and the Alpine 9835 (for instance) are darn good sounding reasonably priced decks at the upper end of most peoples price range. To get better sounding than those...

How would they reproduce the sound better? CD's are just 1's and 0's right? DO they do something different/better when turning those 1's and 0's into electrical signals to send to the speakers?

I think it has to do with how well the DAC (digital to analogue converter) can interprete those ones and zeros.
