Help! 2000 VW Golf rear seat stuck in locked position

Hi, all! I hope someone can help me. I have a 2000 VW Golf. My amplifiers are are sitting on the carpeted board attached to the back of my rear seat. The seat is the foldable kind with two spring-like mechanism levers(one on each side). A while ago, I have been tuning my amps and the seat was being folded back and forth several times. Last time I locked it in place and now my seat is stuck in locked position. This makes tuning a big pain, as I have very limited access. I went to VW dealer, they took some panels in the trunk apart, but could not fix it. They told me, that I have to pull the amps rack out, then cut out the entire rear seat, and put a used seat which works.

I was wondering if anyone had the same problem, and if I could maybe have the seat repaired without taking the amps out. Thanks in advance.

There is a bolt between the two seats, remove it and you will release the seat...then adjust your amp rack idea...
