I know basically nothing about box building. can anybody reccomend a site that will help me make the right box size????

it it far more benefitial to make the box for the sub, opposed to making the box for the vehicle, and then hoping it works out. Figure out which sub you want to rujn, then go to their website, and get the specs for the required box volume, ported or sealed.

as to the actual construction of the box, there are more than enough posts on this board discussing the topic, and build pictures of them constructing and finishing the box.. you can also try Car Alarm, Car Stereo, and Cruise Control Info for Installers for quite a few different box construction calculators. the manual that comes with whatever sub you choose should have plans in it to build a box, with all the dimentions you'd need. now if that doesn't fit in your vehicle, or fit where you need / want it to, then you will have to adjust the dimensions accordingly, while still keeping the box volume the same.
