Help!!

Hello, I have an old Acura that i haven't driven in a year due to some needed work, my audio system of course has also been sitting unused for a year. I've got the car running again, and have encountered some problems with the audio system. When i first put in a cd it sounded fine, highs sounded good, and sub was pounding, however the first strange thing was i hit a bump in the road, and the right side got alot louder, i turned the head unit off, and back on, and it returned to normal, then i put a bass heavy rap cd in and cranked it, it sounded good for a couple minutes, then all the sound cut out to a low buzzy sound for a couple seconds, then back to normal. I stopped the car and opened my trunk to check on the amps, saw my bass amp smoking a little bit, and an electrical burning smell, when i touched the bass amp it was almost too hot to touch, so i just shut everything down, and disconnected the amps. Does anyone have an ideal what might be going wrong? My first thought was maybe speaker deterioration causing some short somewhere, but really have no clue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !!
