Okay...this may be an obvious question and I realize that my set up is by no means ideal, but I wanted to get some thoughts...

I just put two new woofers (ID IDQ12 V2s)in my old box and when I press down on one woofer, the other hardly moves...oops, not good, obviously a leaky box.

Now, the box is actually the top half of an MDF box that was spray foamed to trunk of the car, using the floor of the trunk and the spare tire well as the bottom of the box (told you it wasn't ideal). I will say though, that with previous woofers, this thing rocked and went very, very low). Anyway, before I put the woofers in, it seemed to be sealed well, I double checked the entire box and added some additional silicone. But, as I said, it obviously leaks.

Any thoughts on how to determine where the leak is?

I don't want to have to completely redo this thing.

I guess the lack of response means I have to make a new box.

pour on the fiberglass

inside out side ect, it will seal. if that don't work just scream "Why God Why" <repeat and rip off good chunk of hair.. this usally clears things up for me.. then find a happy place and brain storm...

I woulden't give up on it yet, it can be fixed.

maybe a little more info.. is the tire well sealed? theres rubber gromets in there for letting water out. you could have blown one out.. look from underneeth> flashlight.. better yet put flash light in inclousure close up and look underneeth for light.. I'm guessing its leaking on that side or you would have found it all ready...

fiber glass spot when you find it and bump on dude..

Thanks Icon...both suggestions make sense...yes, there is at least one drain hole, which I thought was sealed but may well not be...I will have to check...and the flashlight idea is a good one...I will put it inside the box (in the dark and see if I see any light shining through...if not, I may just fiberglass the hell out of all the seals...

One question, would I need fibreglass matte or should resin work as a seal?

Do you think there would be any problems with resin eating away at the spray foam that is currently "sealing" the box to the trunk floor?

Thanks again.
