Unhappy Help me, I miss hearing my subs :(

Hey, just wandering around the internet and i found this site. My problem is that i can't get my boom booms to work anymore. It stopped working while i was driving on the interstate. Nothing really happened that i did to my knowledge to make it stop working. I checked all my fuses, wiring, and even put my amp into another car audio system, and it worked there. But in my car I can not even get the lights to turn on my amp. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas what would be the problem, any help would be great. thanks

No lights on at the amp indicates that you either have a blown fuse in the main power wire, look near the battery. It may also be a bad or disconnected ground or the remote on wire that turns the amp on may also have a blown fuse (if it was fused), look behind the cd player for it. I imagine that you do not have a meter or a test light. If what I have mentioned is beyond you, head into a stereo shop and let them have a look.

yeah i checked my power with a light tester and i know that i am getting power to my amp. I dont have a fused REM thou. i dont know, it just makes my head hurt more than anything. I would rather try to find the problem and fix it my self , then to bring it in.

You could have lost your remote turn wire on your deck. Being very very carefull take a small piece of wire and jump it from the main postive line in on your amp to the remote turn-on on the amp and see if its comes on. Like MR2NR also said redo all grounds make sure all connections are tight and clean from dirt or grease. BE CAREFUL.

If you have a test light, see if you still have power on the remote on line at the amp. No = blown output or fuse at the cd player on the remote line. Yes = bad ground on the amp or blown fuses in the amp.

I used a piece of wire from my power to my REM, it worked !!! Thank you. But now my LED will stay on. Will it be draining a lot of power or will it be safe to leave it that way. Or is there something else I can do now that I know my problem, alternitive from having the wire from rem to power?

You are going to have to connect that remote wire that runs from your to the deck to the wire that is your switched postive ignition wire. If you leave it like that you will kill your battery. Make sure to put in a 1 amp fuse to if possible.
