HELP?!?! no power to my amp :S

i had recently taken out my system because of an attempted break in to my ford explorer, and today i tried to re install my 2 10 inch rockford p2's and 1200 watt ultimate amp, and there seems to be a problem. no power seems to be going to the amp. i check all the fuses, wire connections, etc, and i have NO IDEA what the problem is. the amp was working fine a week ago so that shouldnt be the problem. i have tried 2 different fuses that i have, as well as checked all the wires for defects. any help?!?!

do you have a volt meter? check to make sure that your power is getting power at the end, use the car itself for the ground. If you have power I would then try the first step, but this time use the ground wire for the ground. if all is still good, power up your head unit and test the power control wire. You shouldn't get any reading when the HU is turned off, but when it is on you should.

Does your amp have a built in fuse? check it/them.

no i dont have a volt meter, but everything was working fine a week or 2 ago, and there seems to be a problem now. i took out the 2 fuses from the amp and they looked fine..i am not turning the truck engine on, but that shouldnt matter when i am testing to see if there is power should it? the system has always working before with the ignition turned all the way down. i am not sure what else to do? any other suggestions? i appreciate the help very much.

yeah, there should be power with the truck turned off. I was thinking that possibly the power control wire might have come loose.

One way you could test if your remote power wire has power is to hook the power wire to the positive on your amp. Then hook up the ground. Then, instead of hooking up the remote power wire, take a short piece of wire and touch one end to the power input on your amp. Then take the other end and touch it to the remote input. DO NOT TOUCH IT TO THE GROUND See if your amp turns on.
